There are several kinds of eclipses. The two most known are the solar and lunar eclipses. But there are actually five kinds. There is solar, lunar, annular, total, and hybrid. Solar and lunar are self-explanitory, but the other three are a little different. An annular eclipse is where the moon doesn't fully cover the suns shadow and leaves a ring of light around the moon. A total eclipse is where the sun is completely blocked out by the moon. The rarest of all, the hybrid eclipse happens because of the curvature of the Earth. The moon orbits around the Earth and causes an annular eclipse and a total eclipse at the same time.
There are several eclipses coming in 2024. There will be a lunar eclipse on March 25th. It will occur between the times of 12:53 and 5:32 am, with its complete eclipse at 3:13. The next eclipse to occur will be the solar eclipse on April 8th. This eclipse will begin in Texas at 1:27 pm CDT and will end in Maine at 3:35 pm EDT.
